We are holding a Gratitude Gathering to fight for Shoreline’s “Climate Justice Trees” located all along the creek buffer of the north branch of Thornton Creek at N 155th St at 1st Ave NE.
Shoreline’s healthy and mature public street trees offer critical shade and cooling to the community at zero cost.
Their removal during our current age of unchecked global heating is an insult to climate justice. These trees are located in a critical environmental buffer zone for Thornton Creek.

As humanity deals with the double whammy of the climate crisis coupled with biodiversity collapse, we cannot afford to cut down mature, native members of our urban forest that simultaneously provide shade and cooling to human neighbors and precious habitat to our region’s wildlife.
