The Green Lake Redwood was planted by Green Lake Elementary students 100 years ago, when their school was across the block from where it now stands. Its trunk is 80” in diameter. When this large lot came up for development, neighbors grew concerned. Thanks to extensive outreach from the community, this tree was saved and the lot developed around it.
